Title: dvd volume level
Post by: dedidio on November 20, 2003, 05:14:01 pm
I am experiencing very low volume when playing dvd's.  I have to roughly double the volume on the TV when going from playing mp3's to DVD's.

Any suggestions?

Check all the volume controls by double clicking on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your desktop.

yep - they're all on full.

I have also experimented with which sound device DVD playback uses and this makes no difference either.

I can verify this.  I just started using MC as my DVD player of choice and notived that when I play a movie in PowerDVD4 and then open the same movie in MC I have to turn the volume WAYYYYYY up.  I've checked all the settings too...

phatrabt.

PS:  Can MC make Thumbnails out of the DVD Chapter stops?  It would be nice (unless what I'm thinking of isn't a video file at all..., what I mean is when I click the DVD drive in MC's tree I see four(?) entries under the DVD.  Maybe they're something else?).

Just spent most of the day messing with dvd stuff on my system.  Ended up with the decision that I will have to use winDVD as my dvd player.

PowerDVD was jerky, although the sound was fine.
media center with powerDVD installed was jerky and way too quiet

winDVD is perfect
media center with winDVD installed is slightly jerky and way too quiet

Does this make any sense?  Any suggestions of how to get things perfect in mediacenter will be very much welcomed!
