Title: Add new media types?
Post by: Bucko on December 15, 2002, 01:18:37 am
Is there any way to add a new media type to Media Jukebox? Its database is pretty powerful and I would like to use it to catalog my collection sega/nintendo rom images.

Media Center 9 handles images. There is more info here. (http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=beta)

by rom images I do not mean pictures, I mean binary files that are the image of what was originally stored on a ROM cartridge. These files are used in various emulators to allow me to play my older games on my new system. I do not expect MJ to play them (as if :) I just need some way of cataloging them all

You can do this by changing the registry value.  I think it's this one:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Media Jukebox\DescriptionTypes

It should then show up in the advanced section of the import.
