I use MC9 on my laptop with headphones, and it's great. My only complaint is this:
Everytime I re-start MC9, it seems MC9 "updates" the volume "Wave Out" level in the volume control to max. This is no big deal at home when I have my speaker system hooked up to my desktop cause my speaker system uses a separate volume control.
However, on my laptop and using headphones, my god, that hurts my ears when I play MC9 and forget because the sound output from the laptop soundcard is loud.
I have to re-set the Waveout to around 10%, and set my volume to around 10% too otherwise, I'd go deaf.
Why can't MC9 leave my Wave Out level in the volume control alone? Do anyone else have this peeve?
Regards!

What version of MC are you using?
If you are using one of the most recent build, you can click on the little volume icon in MC and change it to internal volume.
This way, when you change the volume in MC, it will only affect MC and not the main Wave Out slider.
Another way is to check whether you got tools->options->start up->startup volume enable or have MC optimise volume on start up.

In Tools>Options>Start Up you need to disable both options.
