Hi,
I have a registered copy of Media Center 9.0.180 installed. I downloaded the 9.1.309 installer and launched it. At the first screen, the license agreement, I decided not to install it at that time and pressed Cancel. When I tried to restart Media Center 9.0.108, it crashed on startup with a Media Core error.
Turns out merely starting and immediately cancelling the 9.1.309 installer causes it to overwrite jrimage.dll in the system32 folder with a version that's not backwards compatible. Fortunately I had a backup copy of the old dll, and replacing it solved the problem.
Nasty bug. Is the dll really necessary that early? In any case, the installer should clean up after itself following a Cancel.
