Title: Media Jukebox 8.0.399
Post by: Nikolay on May 20, 2003, 08:28:06 am
A new build of Media Jukebox is available:
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaJukebox8.exe

History:
1. Fixed: Media Jukebox would sometimes crash if CD was not found in YADB.
2. NEW: Media Jukebox was updated to support the latest version of YADB protocol.
3. Fixed: Media Scheduler was not working correctly if duration of recording was over 9 minutes.
4. Fixed: Media Scheduler still had option to record TV.

I downloaded Media Center and had all of my files(over 1000) imported from Media Jukebox. Now I cannot burn any CD's and cannot figure out how to do it. And I have followed all instructions to correct this problem. Please help me to burn CD's. I have already paid for Media Jukebox and I don't need any upgrades.  David

When I go to burn a CD I get an error message that says....Invalid field for CDb...What does that mean?

When MJ connects to YADB and skins are DISABLED I can see this message:
Action: Accessing disk YADB information.
Status: Conecting...
    Cancel

But if I use skins, then I get this message:
? ? ?:  A
? ? ?:  C
    ? ? ?|||

Does any know why they got rid of CDDB support  ?
CDDB was a great way to get info on single songs.

Given that YADB is now the only database available, can anyone recommend the best way to get info on single songs ??

TIA,
Spikemaster

Am using 8.0.399 to try to create a data CD, but 'option' in 'Settings' is different than described in Help.

I want to burn a CD with certain files from a harddrive location.

Can anyone help?  Is this even possible?

Thanks,
Will

I've found a way to add files from the harddrive but I'm not sure it's the best way -- it seems a bit cumbersome.

In any event, when MJ 8.0.399 finds a filename longer than 108 chars, it just stops when I click continue.

I'm not sure what 'Continue' at this point is suppose to mean.

Does anyone have a clue?  ?

there is a limitation of 64chrs and i think a newer burn type allows for longer names.

Some drives maynot suport longer file names.

MC9's burner handles this better than MJ8 and has a better burner.

I have not used MJ8 in almost a year

mj8 had 2 burners a generic burner and ne from golden hawk that also required ASPI drivers.

the generic burner in MC9 replaced the golden hawk burner and it has improved over the one built into MJ8.

there is a Burning FAQ on the links above "CD Burning Tips"

Yes, both.  Some are even txt files.  This is for a data CD, not an audio one.

MJ8 and MC9 just like other jukeboxes does not burn files other than media files.

you need to use Nero or Easy CD Creator for that.

Oh, I'll try MC9 then -- I mistakenly thought MC was different than MJ. Sorry.

Nikolay,

399 is the build I'm currently running. It *still* crashes from time to time when YADB info isn't available. Is this a known problem?

? This is a two parts question. First I downloaded this latest release, and I start this new release, it runs for about 10 seconds, then shuts down. So I reinstalled an early version 8.035, and it works fine. I am running winXP Pro on a P4 2.4 Ghz with 1 gig of memory. Whats the deal?
Second, what is up with this support? This is the first time I've used this forum or even looked for any tech support, and why can you not contact a tech support person directly by phone or email even? I don't want to be rude or offend anyone but I am not very impressed.

other skins load well.
When MC tells me it can't load that skin it turns the skin to its default PixOs.
Why not go back to green eyes I used?
