Title: Build 313: Database save frequency decreased for very large libraries
Post by: jleerigby on November 27, 2003, 02:31:49 am
Could you elaborate on this.  I'm really nervous about any changes that could cause me to lose work.  When doing large amounts of tagging I much prefer to be sure that changes have been saved when I make them.  I have the same size library as Lisa with Lyrics and all that and haven't had any problems with database saves.

*What constitutes a large library?
*When do the changes get saved?
*What happens if we make changes and then get a media core error while doing something else subsequent to this?

Just to make you even more nervous: I have lost some changes yesterday because of a media core crash.

1.) I did remove some files from the library (with delete the filename)
2.) Started Mediaserver
3.) Mediacore crashes, Mediaserver runs(?)
4.) Started MC again
5.) Files were deleted but entries in the library were there

So I guess that the time between (1) and (3) was not enough (I would estimate about 1 1/2 minutes, but I'm not sure).
