Title: help with cover art

I am new to MC but I am having problems assiging cover art to individual songs,

say I download a adonna song how do I assign a cover of a madonna album to it? to be displayed in the thimbnails?

Right click on the track in the tree, click Image and select the appropriate option based on where the Madonna cover is.  If the Madonna cover is stored inside the file on another Madonna track you will first have to copy it to the clipboard (using the same right click menu) and then paste to the other track.
