At version 9.1.309 MediaCenter is not recognizing my CD burner as a burner. It sees the drive as a regular CD Rom player. I am able to read files and play them from a CD placed in the burner, and other programs, like Nero, see the drive as a burner and will erase read-write CDs and write to them.
I am a registered user and currently am on version 9.1.313 which also does not see the drive as a burner. I have a Ricoh 7060 burner in drive E: and Pioneer 104 DVD reader in F:
In the registry I have:
JRiver/Media JukeBox/CD Reader/
LastCDRomType-E: 2,0,,0
LastCDRomType-F: 2,0,,0
and
JRiver/Media JukeBox/CD Writer/
there are no entries.

Could be your ASPI, for latest see...
http://cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm
...and you might check to see if you have the latest Nero build for whatever version it is (ie 5.5)

Checked myaspi, and they were old. Updated to latest v4.71.2 - rebooted, and opened up MediaCenter - no change, still not seeing a cd burner.
Thanks for the suggestion and link, I guess this is specific to my setup and files, but it is odd that i can burn in nero but not in this latest version of mediacenter. Perhaps all i need to do is change the registry entries that mediacenter has for the CDWriter - but to what I'm not sure.

Went back to MediaJukeBox v8.0.400 and all is working fine. CD writer now recognized.
Looks like the problem is a MediaCenter one after all. Any suggestions as to what I can change, as I had got used to MediaCenter's extra features.

Try rebooting again and opening up Media Center. There is an installation bug with the Adaptec ASPI drivers: a registry entry is not created. MC detects and fixes the problem but then you need to reboot and MC should see your burner.

Ahh, success. Back up with MediaCenter 9.1.313 and all drives are correctly recognized. I reinstalled 9.1.312 after mediajukebox install, probably did a re-boot in between so that re-boot must have done the trick.
Thank-you all for the suggestions and helpful support.
