Hi folks,
Just to kill some time while we are all waiting for V10 betas and to complement the other thread on people's origins.

Je suis bien versed dans Engish, bien que je peux tenir mon propre dans Ebonics. El español sería mi elección para una segunda lengua. Deutsch schaut sehr zäh, daher ich an darauf werde vorbeigehen an. L'italiano sarebbe fresco. ..I potrebbe guardare la serie di Padrino e non deve leggere il subtitles.

I am well versed in Engish, although I can hold my characteristic in Ebonics. The Spanish would be my election for one second language. German looks at very toughly, therefore I on it will on pass. The Italian would be fresh. ..I he could watch the series of Godfather and he does not have to read the subtitles.
HeHe Babelfish ;D

Hat sich da gerade noch bei einem anderen Deutschversteher der Magen umgedreht?
Aber Recht hat er - es ist besser, wenn er daran vorbeigeht ;D

Hi, Salut,
Comparing the results of this poll with the one on people's origins (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=17314;start=50 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=17314;start=50)) gives interesting results.
The results in this poll shows that for 50% of the people, english is the mother tongue and for the remaining 50% another language.
Now if you look at the results of the other poll, you notice that 63% are from USA/Canada+UK/Ireleand+Australia/NZ and 37% (edited from 27% ::) ) from the rest of the world. You can think that those 63% are likely to have english as their mother tongue and that the rest of the world is more likely to have another one. Ok, but then it does not match the results of the "mother-tongue" poll (50/50). Why ?
Here are some potential reasons for this mismatch :
1/ A lot of people who lives in the USA are not native english speakers. (but there might also be some english natives in non anglophones countries)
2/ Our Québécois friends are counted in the USA/Canada region but are native french speakers
3/ The statistics might not be large enough (48 votes here against 110 for the other poll)
4/ The native english speakers don't really care about a poll on languages.
Any more comments ?
Please have a très belle journée les friends !
