Sorry if this has been answered somewhere, but I've just started using MC9 (great program btw) and I'm getting some very confusing listings of my mp3's in my library.
For some reason I have 3 entries for some of the mp3's. Here's an example from the Tag info:
C:\Documents and Settings\Mike\My Documents\My Music\.\Various Artists\Funk Classics The 80's\Super Freak.mp3
C:\Documents and Settings\Mike\My Documents\My Music\Various Artists\Funk Classics The 80's\Super Freak.mp3
C:\Documents and Settings\Mike\My Documents\My Music\My Playlists\..\Various Artists\Funk Classics The 80's\Super Freak.mp3
If you look closely, the first listing has a period between \MyMusic\ and \Various Artists. The second listing doesn't, and the third listing is from my playlist, which includes a reference to this song. This makes it very difficult to select a group of songs to play (such as a certain genre) wthout having 3 repeats of the same song. I've tried the "Remove Duplicates". I've tried creating a new library. I've looked to make sure there are not really multple instances of the song in the folder........
I'm stuck. I'm sure I'm probably doing something very stupic/simple....but I sure can't figure it out. Any help whould be appreciated.

I've never heard of your problem, but I was wondering this: is there any way to remove duplicate files from my hard drive through mc? I'm trying to update my iPod and i'm out of space. Thanks!

yes, look in the smart lists, and there is a command you can add to your search parm
~NODUPS
~DUPS
or something like that.
then just select what you want deleted and delete
