Am I missing something or is it not possible to change the volume label on a CD-R before burning a data CD in Media Center (I'm using 9.1.316)?
If it's not possible, I'm stunned given the fact that MC will do just about everything else except make my bed in the morning :)

Ok, here's what I did, though it didn't really work as I expected:
1. Inserted blank cd.
2. Right clicked on CD name in MC and selected "Edit Selected Item"
3. Renamed the cd and hit enter
4. Name in MC remained unchanged (still labeled as "Compact Disc")
5. Burned CD
6. After burning CD, label was now Unnamed Disc (not what I had named it, of course).
7. BUT, if I looked at the CD in Windows Explorer or Windows Media Player, the name that I gave the CD was there!
So, my question is now - why does MC not reflect this new name correctly? This would appear to be a pretty significant bug.

This has been fixed in version 10.

Thanks for the info. However, I'm a bit wary about moving to 10 at this point since it's so early in the beta. I completely understand the desire to contain new features to the 10 beta, but it would be great if bug fixes could be applied to some additional maintenance releases of 9.1.
