I've asked about this before, but since I see you're working on V10, I thought I'd bring it up again:
I'd like to be able to create a view: "By Date Ripped"/"By Album", so that I can have groupings to locate all CD's ripped on a particular date. This would be very useful to me - I buy/rip CD's in batches, and I often want to go back and make sure I've actually listened to what I just bought, or bought last month, etc.
I know there's a "recently ripped" smartlist (or something like that), but that really doesn't give me what I want.
Thanks for listening.

I've achieved someting similar by creating a view scheme group called new albums and hanging off there I have 3 view schemes:
* Last 2 months
* Last 3 weeks
* Today
Each of these view schemes is set in Album Thumbnail view and displays panes for album artist (auto) and a calculated field of Track # - Name. Works very nicely.

J:
Sounds good, but I'd still much rather be able to view by rip date. It really should be an easy feature to implement. You can already view by rip ~time~, all that needs to be done is to be able to cast the time to a date.

We don't store a rip date, but you can show "Date Imported" as a column and sort by it. That's what I do to find and play recent CDs.

Matt:
"Date Imported" is fine, but I'd like to be able to group by it. The problem is that it's not really "Date Imported" - it's "Time Imported". I'd like to group by just the date, not view a sorted list of all songs by time imported. It's something I used to have in the product I used before MC, and it's one of those features that may not seem like much, but you come to appreciate it after using it. At least to me. Anyway, supporting the ability to truncate to the date would be pretty easy, wouldn't it?

I agree.
Until this is possible creating a few playlists by hand could maybe do the same job but with a little more work.

I should have added that my view schemes mentioned above are sorted by date ripped. I really find that these do the job nicely, especially as I tend to have a major ripping session every now any then so it's easy to decide which view scheme within the view scheme group that I need to look at.
