Whenever I try to install Media Center I get an error message from installwizard, that I have to install Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. But I've installed the latest version with all service packs for XP.
I had to reinstall my computer few days ago. Older versions of Mediacenter 9.1 installed without problems, suddenly I got this error message. I took the Installwizard from older archives and the install worked without any troubles. Cannot remember with which version this started, when I set up my computer from the scratch I deleted the old archives:-(
Any hints whats going on here? I included my system information.
thx,
joho

Really no one can help me out? I suppose some 3rd party program is preventing installwizard from working correctly, but I've no idea who is to blame.
Any other way to contact support from jriver? I registered version 10 yesterday (update) and cannot install it on my home computer. Pretty useless product now...

Have you tried the latest builds of v10?
-
I tried the 10015 - did not install. Have to wait for evening to try 10016.
I've renamed the install archive to zip and copied the files manually, but I think I'll get troubles with this because some modules might not get registered correctly.
thx,

Tried 10016 now - no go ? I even tried re-installing Explorer 6 - not a chance...

Something may be wrong with your OS. Try doing IE/tools/Windows Update.
-
As I wrote in my first post. I installed XP with SP1 (volume licence version) from the scratch 2 weeks ago, applied all hotfixes from MS available for download (Windows Update).
DX9 is installed - did not install Mediaplayer 9.
Office 2003, Visualstudio 6 (c++), some Adobe stuff, Nero, Norton Ghost.
Everything is working really perfect - except mediacenter would not install. It is running great, but it does not install. Have no problem with version 8, and early 9 - problem started one to month ago. Thought there is no need, to have allways the latest version installed:-) But I really would like to have the new 10.

Something may be wrong with the operating system though.
Is security screwed down too tight?

What locale is your system?
Try switching it to English to see if it makes any difference.
(there once was a bug with English version number conversion that may have returned.)
-
Matt YOU DID IT!!! My regional setting is ENGLISH (US) and location is set to US by default. But the numbers, time and date format I customized to the European standard.
I'm from Austria, dealing with computers (programmer) over 20 years now, therefore I never got used to any other "computer language" than english.
Set back to US defaults and the program installed without a glitch.
I'am a bit ashamed - should have checked this myself:-(
Sorry for any inconvenience,
Regards,

It's a bug on our end. Please try the next build (without switching locales) to see if we have it fixed.
If not, we may need some help from you.
Thanks!

Matt,
