Title: Safe to rip while using beta versions?

Hi there,

I've been waiting to rip a lot of my CDs, and it seems that MC is a fine program to handle my ripping... especially given the downloading of album art and audio analysis at the same time.

I just tested some CD rips at WMA-VBR-Normal/high, and everything seemed to go fine and the clips sound fine to my ears.  But given the obvious time investment in ripping (not just the process itself, but in checking/fine-tuning tags, etc.), I wanted to make sure that I'm not foolhardy to do this while using MC10 (beta).

I don't see why there should be any problem ripping CDs. Any problems that do turn up don't seem to have anything to do with ripping. No matter which version you're using.

Thanks for the info!  But now I'm curious to know a bit more.  For instance, why does the identical WMA setting (VBR-normal/high) result in slightly different file sizes when ripped on MC and WMA?  I can't discern any difference in the audio, but still... :)

At a guess I'd say it'd probably be header information that changes between the two.
Or possibly different versions of the encoder each uses?
