Title: YADB -- background?
Post by: ThatAdamGuy on December 16, 2003, 12:59:34 am
Hi there,

I understand that MC uses YADB, with info derived from freeDB.  I'm interested in knowing more.

1) Why did the folks behind MC decide to create this?
2) Is it actually an entirely new database, initially populated with data from freeDB, but separate... or is it tied continuously with updated freeDB or other database info?
3) How does one edit existing data, and are there posted guidelines for doing so properly?

Do note that I tried searching this board for "YADB" and got 50zillion hits :|

You can not edit data in the database, you can edit info on your system and re-submit the info to YADB.

It would be great if some people were allowed to go in and correct mistakes and/or remove duplicates.
