It looks like MC9 is mangling track name tags when I use it to transfer stuff to my Zen Xtra. Specifically, it looks like the file name truncated with the genre stuck on the back is what's showing up as the track name on the Xtra. My tagging is pretty clean. Anyone eles experience this? Is there a fix?
Thanks

Nolonemo,
I cannot duplicate this. Are you running plugin 9.0.31? When you right click on Nomad, what do you have selected for "Select Title field"? Can you email me a file where you definitely see the problem?

Steve, after installing the latest build of MC9 (9.1.316) and downloading latest Zen plugin, I downloaded a couple test tracks, and I am not getting the concatenation I was getting before. However, what the Xtra is showing as the track title is the mp3 filename, not the contents of the mp3 tag's "title" field. Is this how the plugin is designed?
(I prefer to see only the tag "title" because my file naming generally follows the format trackno - title - album, in part to try to achieve unique file names; also I need to have the track number in the file name because some files end up on another folder/filename based player....).
Thanks for your response.

Nolonemo,
The plugin is designed to populate the Track Name (or title) on Nomad with either the Name field or Filename field from MC. It appears you currently have selected MC's Filename. To select 'Name', right click on Nomad and choose 'Select Title Field' and select 'Name'.
Sorry for the confusion in terminology.

Thanks Steve. It seems like every time I think I've come across a bug in MC9 it turns out that I've just underestimated its functionality and flexibility! ;D
Just tried it out and it works like a charm. The ability to select album artist or album artist auto is a big plus too.

Thanks,
It is nice of you to say so.
