Title: error message
Post by: chrispa90 on December 17, 2003, 01:15:33 pm
I  wonder if anyone can help me.
My operating system is windows xp and I run MJ 8.

I now find that the following message will come up at various tracks and is sometimes accompanied by a complete freeze up of the screen needing ctlr-alt-del to return to my desktop.

‘Playback engine: Media Jukebox is unable to acquire licence for this file-
                  Windows Media Error 0x80070020’

Sometimes the message appears without a freeze up and to play the track all I need to do is hit the back button and it usually plays ok. Can’t seem to find a pattern to this at all.

Any ideas?

Make sure you have latest build of MJ (8.0.400) and (I really hate to say this...) WMP9. MJ uses (AFAIK) components of WMP for playback. You may want to consider (at some point) switching to some other format (ie mp3, ogg) for future ease of use. FYI: The ability to convert protected (DRM'd) wma's to another format has been removed. There may be other issues with DRM'd wma's as well.
