Title: Make my visualization my background?
Post by: JustinChase on December 17, 2003, 02:39:46 pm
I really like to use visualizations (although I would prefer to have a better selection) but there's no real good way to view them while I continue to work.

I would love it if there was a way to fave my full-screen visualization as a background.  So I can see it full-screen, but still see my desktop icons.

Could this be done?

More importantly, is it just plain stupid?

I dunno . . . that's kinda hard to say for sure.

It's been done for OpenGL (and DX) screensavers here (and elsewhere)...
http://www.reallyslick.com/
(Helios & Euphoria are gorgeous)

by using the utility here...

(see the ScreenPaper utility)

Does it help with MC...no. Mostly, I posted this so that you could see that animated wallpaper can and has been done (and also what kind of performance hit you might see...though the ReallySlick SS's are very heavy duty). WinAmp may have a plugin that allows it to do similiar tricks.

Giess has a Screen Saver and  Desktop background, both of which are animated.
They are pretty nice looking.
