So I was listening to a song I had ripped from one of my CDs today, and I thought... YUCK! So I hit delete, but then realized that it was deleted only from my NOW PLAYING list. Oops!
So in order to delete it, I had to click on AUDIO, then search for that song, then delete it.
Is there an easier way? If not, could the MC team please make it easier? Thanks! :)

Just hit shift delete. That brings up the delete dialogue.

Ah, thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for! Was this hidden somewhere in the documentation?

I don't know. I just found it by accident.

It's in the help file. If you search for "delete", it will be the first hit:
"Delete Media Files from Library
You can delete files from anywhere in Media Center*. Select the track(s) you want to delete and do one of the following:
Toolbar image of icon
Right click Delete
Keyboard Delete key
File Menu Edit | Delete
*If you are in a Playlist, selecting Delete will only remove the file from the Playlist; it will not delete it from your Library. If you want to delete a file from your library while in a Playlist, do Shift+Delete.
If asked, select “Remove from Media Library” only. Do not send to the Recycle Bin, and do not permanently delete from disk, unless you want to remove the file from your library AND delete the file from your drive.
Deleting files from your library permanently removes additional information associated with the files such as Playlist affiliations and play count. "

Don't feel bad it took me a year to find it.

Aaaaah, I learn something new everyday. This has annoyed me for a while, and it's been there all along....
