I am trying to reisntall MJ 8 but I am unable to. I am able to delete everything but MJShellExt.dll 1.0.16.0 My "access is denied" Can you please help me?
-
You don't need to delete it. Just re-install.
It's active because you have Windows Explorer open.

Thanks so much for the quick response! I did try version 9, deleted, went back to try to install V8 but I get "You are attenting to open a database that is too new for this version. Please upgrade to the newest version of Media Jukebox". I did download 8.0.400. How can I solve this?
Thanks again.

What Happened Is Your Database Was upgraded to a new format for MC9
If you have the backed up MJ8 Data base you can use that.
if you wish to just start from the begining uninstall MC9 And MJ8
make sure the \J River\ folder is gone and then reinstall MJ8
the only thing holding you up is replacing the MC9 database with the backed up MJ8 database.

I want to start from the begining but I can not delete the \J River\ folder. I get a popup window telling me " Cannot delete MJShellExt.dll. Access is denied."

Did you re-boot?
Make Sure Media Scheduler and Media server, Download Manager etc... do not start up
the only reason your getting that massage is the dll is running
it needs to be terminated first before you delete the folder
