There is few things that MC cannot do as copy cd on the fly [ this method giving or not good resuls is not the debate here] and copy a mix cd music/data.
So ,most of us need to have another program aside MC.
PROBLEM
The 2 programs anyone get when buying a cd-w drive ,EasyCd Creator and Nero can create problems to MC ,making burning not working or badly working.
So ,here my question:
Which program-free- is recommanded by JRiver to be aside MC?

I can say that ECDC has never caused any problems for me...and my current Stomp RecordNowMax hasn't either (DLA is not installed). Nero on the other hand (when using InCD), blocked access to my ReWriteable drives, and so does Foobar2k (0.7.5) when open. This may have been corrected by now in both cases (may have been a setting in FB2k, but I looked high & low and I couldn't find one).

You mean EasyCd Creator?
Do not know about it ,cannot see a burner if more than 3 or 4 drives.
But ,i'am sure i saw that it does make problem with MC.
At the Autorun level.

I have a Plextor CD Burner, and the PlexTools Pro that it uses has caused no problems with MC on my system (wheras others did/may have: Nero, CloneCD).
If you have a Plextor burner I suggest you try the PlexTools.

I do have Plextor tools ..BUT...
I have 8 drives , cdw is the last drive and Plextor tools does not see it
It is like it since past 6 drives

I use Nero 6 Ultra Edition and have never had any problems burning on that or MC. This is with one CD burner and one DVD burner in the same computer.

Mastiff, did you install the complete Nero 6 or just parts? (In particular, is InCD installed?)

I thought the burning issues were taken care of until the other day when I tried to burn an audio CD. I sent the tracks to the CD burner and noticed the same bahavior I have noticed before... i.e. the HD light blinking continuously and MC slowing down to a crawl. As I added the last 2 tracks it took at least a minute before MC would respond again. Then when I clicked the "Burn CD" button it seemed the MC locked up for a minute until the burning began. I seem to remember from an earlier thread that JRiver guessed that it might be a problem with Norton AV scanning the files (or something like that). The solution was to disable the "Scan all removable media when it's mounted" option. Since this is a fresh install of XP I have not yet disabled that option, so I will give it a try and report back.
