Probably a real dumb question, but:
FAQ says:
Normally, you do not need to uninstall either version 8 or version 9 before installing the other version.
OK. Yet the first thing that pops up when I click on the MC9 installer is whether I want to uninstall previous version. Do I just click no and proceed with MC9 installation?
