I've been using a 30G iPod with latest MC 10 betas with NO problems. I just upgraded to a new 40G iPod, WinXP sees it correctly. When I open MC10 it shows me my correctly labeled iPod as drive E: (that's also correct). When I right click the iPod label the only choice I get is to "Format" (still correct). I click on format and am told I'm going to loose all my data if I do this (still correct).
BUT, when I click to FORMAT, I get a dialog box that says only "Failed"!
What the heck do I need to do?
I already tried restoring/updating with my iPod manager to 2.1, and this went slick as a whistle.

BarryT,
Try formatting your iPod from Windows Explorer. Disconnect and reconnect the iPod and see if you are all set. If not, tell me if you have other applications installed (i.e. iTunes, MusicMatch, etc.)

PS Lets pick this up in the main iPod thread. I will close this one now.
