Title: Linux Version
Post by: Oedipa on December 29, 2003, 03:37:07 pm
I've searched the site, FAQ's, everything, and although there are topics on this subject, none have been addressed...

So, I'm wondering if there will *ever* be a Linux version of Media Center?  I love this program but my main OS is Linux.  :(  And all of the Linux players can't compare with this wonder.

Any hope for us or are we relegated to Windows for our media needs?

Ahh, another person. I too would just love this to be available for Linux or someother Unix variant! :)

However, as I understand it - the software development platform for Media Center, is only Windows based - therefore any other platform is highly unlikely to be seen.

I believe the word from JRiver on this one is that they are working on porting it over.... and it won't be finished any time soon. See this post (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=14130;start=msg94692#msg94692) (there may be something more recent... or maybe not).

If that's changed... I stand corrected.
