Title: Importing didn't find my 'mov' and 'rm' movies
Post by: SteveP on December 31, 2003, 12:14:50 pm
Hi All

I know the answer is on this forum somewhere, but I can't find it (it was the same query posted by me a while back)  ::)

I've installed version 9.1, but it hasn't put my mov and rm files in the video category...but it's put them somewhere. I seem to remember that you sometimes have to tell MMJ that it's a VIDEO file not an AUDIO file...but I can't remember how to do this

Thanks

S

Try Options - File Associations

Not sure what you meant... they are there but not in the video category, or not there at all?

If there are there but not in the video category, I'd go to 'Media Library' and type [filename]=".mov" or [filename]=".rm" into the search field... then if some movies come up and they are all videos (but MC says they're audio) you can change the 'Media Type' tag yourself (using the AW [tag info-all categories]).

If this needs any clarification, just ask.

If filetypes have been checked for importing, yet do not appear to be found;
check to see if they are under the wrong catagory . . . .  I have found MC often classifies some filetypes as the wrong media type.

When you do find the files, select them in the file window and check the Action Window under:
File Properties -->> Tag Info -->> Media Type . . .
change it to the proper media type.

Thanks Guys

Sorted! I just couldn't see 'media type' under 'tag info' until I made it show ALL fields

:))

Just one thing, Should I see a thumbnail of the movie if it's a MOV file? I'm just getting the MC icon

Thanks

You're going to have to add an image if you see the default MC icon.

There are several ways to add the image. Look for an earlier thread about Cover Art.
