Title: MC 9.1.316 and Brooktree TV Card
Post by: Phydeaux on January 02, 2004, 04:28:23 am
Firstly: Happy new year to everyone!

I cannot get this card (BT878p+) to work with MC.

When I click on the TV icon in MC, it asks me what capture device to use but then asks me what country and what connection I'm in.

The country list is empty and clicking on the drop-down list does nothing. Nothing at all. I cannot proceed past that point because I have to "choose my country from the list" which does not exist. Typing in the country does not help.

I know that this is to specify which TV signal filter (?) to use. In South Africa, it is PAL-B (well, that setting works with the other software).

Please advise! I would really like to use MC to be my "video machine".

The card works with the supplied software and does all it is supposed to do, although I find it cumbersome to use.

Also, MC has no support for FM Radio -- which most TV cards come bundled with.

Please fix.

Thanks!

P.

There are alternate brooktree drivers on the net.  Try a google search for them.

No FM radio support yet.

MC 10 has some improvements in TV that may also help.

This is most likely a driver issue. Try the driver from this site: http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/download.html (http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/download.html). Before you try the driver, however, please make sure you have selected the correct entry in the Devices list (when you first started TV, and were asked to choose a video device, did you get more than one device in the list?). Try Reset Device button on Options window.

Do you have DirectX 9.0b on your machine? If you do, you may need to download a patch from Microsoft. Do a search on this forum for "DirectX 9.0b" posted by me for more information.
