Maybe I'm missing the option, or maybe I'm just being picky...
I like to view my cd collection using the album thumnail view. However once I actually select a single album from the album list above the thumbnails, I'd really like to see the individual tracks (using the details view) instead of just the album thumbnail , the only way I do this just now is right click the album->list style->details, which is a pain (I then have to do that again to go back to viewing album art). I'd also like to drill down into an album when double clicking it's cover art instead of it starting to play.
Is there anyway to configure MC to do this?

You and a hundred others...
This is on so many peoples wish lists that I feel sure you'll see something in a v10 beta before too long.
In the meantime, if you enable track info tooltips in tree and view settings you can hover over the album thumb for a list of tracks.

Ah ok, cheers. As long as I wasn't missing something :)

Took the plunge and installed MC 10 beta today. I get pretty much what I'm looking for by editing the view scheme to include a track names panel. Just would like to see track details instead of the album art now when I click on individual tracks...

You can also try with this:
1.- Create a calculated custom field using the standard fields "Track#" and "Name". If you need help to do that, let us know.
2.- Configure your favorite view scheme so that your new calculated field "Track# - Name" is the far right column in the pane. A good view scheme for this purpose would be one with the following panes:
"Genre" - "Album Artist (Auto)" - "Year - Album" - "Track# - Name".
3.- Set your lower view to "album thumbnails" and your sort order to "Album".
4.- Click on an artist in the second pane. You'll see his albums ordered by date on the third pane and the thumbnails ordered alphabetically in the lower view.
5.- Click on an album in the third pane. You'll get the nice thumbnail of the album in the lower view and the track listing in the fourth pane, ordered by track.
Not perfect, but works.

Yeah, that's exactly what I've done, but haven't added track num in, didn't think of that, so my tracks are alphabetical at the mo :)

Kewl View Scheme . . . I really like that calculated field thingie, first I've used it.
Thanks, once again I have learned something new here ;)

I'm one of them.

This is what Matt said in this v10 thread: (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=17389)
I'll start.
I'd like a list style that showed large album covers with the tracks next to them in details mode so I could double-click on a certain file. I like the usability of details, but I love album grouping and those big pictures.
Im not a betting person, but if I was, Id reckon we might see something like this in v10 eventually.

Go to
Tools -> Options -> Tree & View
There is a list of all the available fields. Click on "Add"
1.- On the first group of options write the following:
Name = Track# - Name
Display = (Leave the same)
Category = Calculated
2.- On "Data" keep selected "Calculated Data" and write:
Template = [Track #] - [name]
... and that's all :)
