I wanted to create a library from scratch in MC10 after retagging extensively in a million tagging programs.
For some reason, I have lost my all smartlists. For example, right now I need the 'find duplicates' one...
I think I clicked:
File > library > clear library.
After trat moment, I *think* all the smartlist were gone. I didn't miss then till now...
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No dice.
How do I get the standard smartlists back?
And, on a related question :D, how do I remove duplicates effectively?
Thanks,

The auto smartlists are no longer in v10 (only present from previous install). There is a preset menu in the search menu that should have it.
-
There is an easyer way to add them. Right click 'Playlists' - 'add smartlist'. In the following menu you'll get all the presets to add.

I lost my lunch money once,
my mother pinned it to my bra after that and I never lost it again :P

Thanks all, that was very helpful.
If only we could just remove the dupes without having to control+click them...
I'm sure there is an easy way to do that. Heck, a simple perl script would do it...

I'm having this same problem, using 10.0.64. Whenever I clear the library, all of my smartlists get deleted. Not just the auto ones that came with MC9, but the new ones I made. It might be easy to build the smartlists all over again, but it's still a hassle, especially if you're not that familiar with the whole language of the smartlist search parameters. Does anyone know if this is being addressed so I can clear the library without killing my smartlists? The only way I can the original auto lists back (quite a few of which I use regularly) is to do a complete uninstall, then install MC9, open it and make sure the lists are there, then install MC10 on top of it. I tried it without opening MC9 first and the old lists didn't appear first. You have to decide if you want to go through the trouble of doing this or making new smartlists from scratch.

I'm about to wipe out MC and reinstall soon also, and I don't want to lose my smartlists either. Is there a way to back them up before wiping out, so I can just put them back after reinstall?

Why yes, there is...
Right click on Playlists, and "export all playlists"
Very convenient.
-
Export All Playlists doesn't export smartlists.
To preserve everything, simply use "Backup Library."

Good to know, thanks Matt.
