Title: Any chance of an RDF feed?
Post by: scott_r on January 06, 2004, 01:19:36 am
Hello!

Was just wondering if there was a way for the good people at JRiver to set up an RDF feed for us announcing the semi-daily builds. Then I (or someone else) could write a plugin for MC to announce when a new build is ready!

Just a random thought I had,

Scott

Man... it sure would be nice to read INTERACT with an RSS aggregator.  I would save a ton of time and not miss important topics.  Then a little  hyperlink to bring me to INTERACT in order to post and I'd be in Nirvana.

Couldn't agree more, not sure how much hassle it is to set one of them up though.

just had a play, I use Desktop sidebar for my RSS news feeds which can convert HTML to headlines using expressions.
If you select Enter html page url and paste in
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3
then put
<a href=([^ >]+)>([^<]+)[/url]([^<]+)</font></td>
in the expression field and it should come up with the headlines.
Works a treat here  ;)
Don't know if any other news feed programs can work the same, hope it helps though.

Oh sweet!

I was using CoolMon to display system stats and the like, but Desktop Sidebar just kicks it's, um, you know....

Cheers for the tip,

Scott.

Cool product...  the headlines are nice - but I still need to see content.

The rest of Desktop Slidebar is great, too.  I think I'll leave it in place for a week or so and see if it's productive.

Thanks!

JRiver,

I found this interesting:  http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?thread=14233/0 (http://www.yabbse.org/community/index.php?thread=14233/0)  It seems there's an easy way to automatically generate RSS feeds for the forums (fora?)

Please, pretty please, can we have this?
