I have been using MC9.1 (build 316) on my laptop to manage my mp3s, my jpegs, and synch music to my IPOD. I just built an HTPC and copied all my mp3s over to it. I tried to transfer my playlists (custom playlists with my favorite tunes--not smart playlists) to my new computer, but I can't import any of them into MC. I tried exporting both m3u and mpl formats from my old computer and then copied those files to my new computer. When I use the import tool, MC9 just doesn't find the files even if I point it directly to the folder that contains the playlists and I make sure to check correct file type for import. Is there any way that I can import the playlists from one computer to another, or do I have to rebuild the playlists from scratch.
I did try to follow the help file directions of exporting an mpl file and then playing it in MC9, but nothing happened. Since the playlists are on my IPOD, I tried synching the IPOD to the new computer with the function to transfer info to MC checked, but this did not upload the playlists to my computer.
Also, I have not been able to get MC9 to import audible.com .aa files into mc9 on the new computer. Same situation as importing the playlists--I can copy the .aa files to the new computer, but MC9 will not recognize the files even though I made sure to check the correct file type box when using the import tool.
So for the time being, I am stuck using my older slower laptop for my IPOD.

Why don't you move the library from the laptop to your new computer, and do a Find & Replace on the filename to point it to the new file location?
I went through exactly the same process as you, moving from a laptop to an HTPC. No problems for the most part. However, I still had to add the cover art again since there is no way of changing that reference easily.
