Title: rgcAudio High Frequency Stimulator Mystery
Post by: mrsnarky on January 12, 2004, 01:15:39 pm
I recently discovered that the rgcAudio High Frequency stimulator plug-in was no longer listed under my DirectX Host; I'm using version 10.0.31 of MC.   Figuring I had accidentally deleted/unistalled it, I ran the install package again.  Still, NO PLUGIN!  I found the .dll in C:\Program Files\rgcAudio\DirectX\HF Stimulator, which is where it's supposed to be.  I'm positive that this worked in earlier versions of MC, and that I didn't have to do anything special to get it work.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, or, is there something else I need to do to make it work?

Hmm... not sure what's wrong, but you could try re-registering the dll file with windows... go to the windows menu, select run, type cmd (or command, depending on the version of windows), change (cd) to the appropriate directory and type regsvr32 filename.dll ...other than that I've got no idea.

Thanks.  That sounds reasonable.  I'll give it a try, tonight.

Just got it going again...it was a brain-fart on my end.

1. First I untialled the plugin and made sure the directory was gone.
2. I installed the plugin to its default location
3. I went into the MC DSP Studio and checked off DirectX Host (I had forgotten it will be in here)
4. I then click "Add" (the plus) and chose "rgcAudioo High Frequency Stimulator"

That's all it took.  I'd been looking for it in the main list....when, in actuality, it appears under "DirectX Host".

Boy the music sounds sooo much better now.

You can find out about it and many more DSP plugins in the thread LisaRCT started.  Look here:

I have the same problem with DirectX Host Plugin and Izotope Ozone 3.
I have not typed the registration (that i have) in the start page of the Ozone plugin and it has disappeared! In the FAQs of izotope's site they say that this error has been discovered in Sonar and Logic audio softwares and describes the solutions.
They say that in those spftwares there is an option to "unhide" the plugin that disappeared. Where is this option in DirectX Host???
