Title: Another Field/Tag Question

I just removed a field from my library and selected Update Tags, but the deleted field still appears in the file's tag.  

Shouldn't the deleted field be removed from the tag?  Thanks!

We don't generally remove fields we don't know about from a tag.  How exactly this works varies a little by format. (ape, mp3, etc.)

You can always "Remove Tags" then "Update Tags (from library)" if you want everything cleaned out.
