Title: Need help w/ Exporting Playlist
Post by: samarah88 on January 19, 2004, 07:46:38 pm
OK, I have tried customizing playlists, customizing smartlists, reading the FAQ, searching the Interact site and the help files.

I am finally throwing my hands up and giving up (asking for help).

What I am trying is, to export a listing of "Artists/Album/Genre" to create a hardcopy of the Albums I have in Media Center.  I keep getting an additional line for each song.  So it shows the Artist/Album/Genre as many times as there are tracks. I know you can filter duplicates...I have tried this with no success.

Does anyone have a quick solution for this? I am looking for a format similar to:

Aerosmith          Pump                      Pop/Rock
Aerosmith          Toys In The Attic     Pop/Rock
Aerosmith          Rocks                      Pop/Rock
Alison Krauss     Forget About It       Bluegrass
Alison Krauss     New Favorite          Bluegrass
...

I would like to export in either HTML or text (into Excel).

Use MCXMLExport and any of the custom XSLTs availabe at http://pages.sbcglobal.net/scottraymond/Presets.htm (http://pages.sbcglobal.net/scottraymond/Presets.htm) or just create a restriction so that only one track per Album is shown in the playlist (i.e. Trach # = 1).

Scott,

Thanks for the response. I can't seem to find MCXMLExport where your webpage shows.

Quote
The latest version of MC XML Export can be downloaded on the Media Center Accessories pages under "Interface Plugins"

It shows (7) Plug-Ins of which yours is not included.

Nevermind Scott,

I found it through the "Third Party Plug-In" forum.

I am going to give it a try tonight.

FYI...I still wanted to remind you that your plug-in does not show up under Media Center Accessories; Interface Plug-Ins...at least not where I'm looking.

Thanks again for the help.

samarah,

I think you're confusing the two Scotts...  Scott_r. did the plugin and I put together the XSLT and presets.

ya know, I think it's just unfair that there are TWO Scott R's (geez you don't even have different last initials!) working on the same project. It took me a good week to figure out you weren't just one schizophrenic guy. (Hmm, or, uh, maybe you are???)

Maybe we (I) are (am)...

Or maybe not...

JRiver is currently updating their Accessories pages and still haven't had a chance to add my plugin to the database. Sorry for the confusion.

I certainly hope so...

My middle initial is 'M'.

Please tell me yours is different...
