Title: Blue Steel Skin MC 9.1

I have it running on two PC's. On one every other row in the list style view is shaded and on the other there is no shading at all.
I have searched hither and thither to find out where this setting is hiding but have to admit defeat. Can anybobdy put me out of my misery please?

Options > Tree & View > Show gridlines
