Is there a way to display the current bitrate of VBR mp3s in MC? The bitrate column displays the "average" bitrate of the entire song, but I looking for a way to view the bitrate of any given point in the song (or at least an average of a small section of the song.) I'd like to see just how high and how low the bitrate goes for certain specific sections.
If MC doesn't do this, does anybody know of a program that does?
Thanks,
Larry

As far as I can see, MC displays the current bitrate when playing the file, so you can just pause it where you like and check out the bitrate at that point (you could also pause it and jump to a set time, it seems to work, though I'm not sure of the accuracy of this).
It's shown just under the track name in the timeline at the top of the MC window... that number that keeps changing :)
If it's not there, just click the song name once and the info should change and show you the bitrate... if it's still not there then something must have changed... post back here and someone'll tell you how to find it in that case.

Thanks -- it's right where you said it would be, and that's exactly what I was looking for. I KNEW I'd seen a "changing" bitrate number before, and I thought it was in MC, but for some reason I just couldn't find it again. It turns out that the song I was using to find this feature had an extended period of the same bitrate, so when I looked at that location, it was staying at the same number.
Thanks again,
Larry
