Title: player not working with 2 window accts
Post by: mood6063 on August 01, 2003, 03:10:22 pm
Ok here it goes; we have one computer, running xp, with two user accounts one for the adults and one for the children.  the adult version is working fine however, the childrens account only launches a partial MJ window as if the skin isn't there?

I deinstalled, reinstalled while on the adult account and downloaded my license again. works great, I also download a new mega skin. works great....

Now I logged on to the child account, same screen issues.  It predominately black, you can see some icons but I can't click on any menus at all.

More often than not, I have to launch the Windows task manager and manually shut down?

Any ideas? I think it's some conflict with Windows Media Player?

thanks

Try installing the license and all plug-ins for each account.

Try cleaning temp files in IE.

IE/Tools/Internet Options/Temporary Internet Files/Delete files.

Use IE to visit the plug-ins page to download again.
Title: playback error when fading to second song
Post by: mood6063 on August 01, 2003, 04:28:38 pm
ok we're starting to look good now on both sides of the user accounts.....

my only problem now is when I'm playing back a song that I've saved on my computer and it starts to fade out to play the next song, MJ crashes and closes.

It's somewhat sporatic...and on one occassion I received this message; "playback engine; mj unable to acquire license for this file windows media error code #0x800....(didn't get it all)

btw...thanks everyone

I did download the licenses successfully on both user accounts?

i don't think MJ8 works too good when windows media player 9 is loaded.

at least thats what i hear sometimes in the forum. i think it is due to MJ8 was released prior to Windows Media Player 9 was released.

MC9 works really good, at least i had no problems playing any windows media files with it.

The latest build from the downloads page is OK with WMP9.

Just a quick update.... I upgraded MJ plaer from 8.02 to 8.03.....

;D everything is good.

I did notice that when my kids add songs, I automatically see them in the playlist and visa versa...so I think I'll just let them us W Media Player 9.0 and I'll use MJ !!!!!! What I really like the best about MJ is the ability to crossfade songs not only during playback but when I burn cds as well......

thanks

well you can change the Library from default to something like "Kid's Library"

what i don't know is if that will change the library for the other user, if not this may solve the problem.
