Title: Library not updating

I have my media files on a USB hard drive. When I add new files, I run FILE>LIBRARY>LIBRARY UPDATE with only "Update all database fields" checked. None of the new files are imported to the list. I have to manually drag them from Windows Explorer to get them to show up. What am I doing wrong?

thats bacause thats not what that option is for.

Try: File, Library, Import Media

Won't that remove my playlists?

it just don't remove playlists unless you have renamed the files or moved them with another program, and only the files that were moved or renamed will be removed from the play lists.

I import almost every day and still have all my play lists.

at any rate the only way to Import is to use the import option or drag them to the program.
