Title: Plugging in Flash Drive Causes Havoc
Post by: sraymond on January 27, 2004, 06:37:33 pm
Whenever I plug in my USB flash drive while MC is running, I get a dialog box that says "Please verify player is connected."  I close it and another one pops up.  If I remove the flash drive, MC crashes.

Scott-

P.S.  I'm running the latest beta.

If it isn't WMDM compliant, it may not work with these last few builds.  A web search might tell you.  It means that it should play protected WMA files.

Play?  It's just a removable storage device.  I'm a little out-of-the-loop maybe?

OK, Scott.  I see the problem.  I have a USB drive and I just plugged it in.  MC thinks it's seeing a player.  We'll take a look at it.

Please try going to Tools->Plugin Manager->Handheld->Portable Devices->Configure and deselect "Enable WMDM support" if it is checked and report if the problem goes away.

Thanks,

Steve

King,

I've just got to ask...  isn't it a lot of work making all those incorrect capitalizaitons?  Is there some hidden pattern to the errors?  Like some sort of morse code, maybe?

The next build of MC should resolve this when you have Enable WMDM unchecked.

Hi Steve

10.0.53 = fixed

Well maybe.

If pluged in and unpluged a no. of times, MC crashes.

May be just my sys.

Anyone else try it ?
