Title: MP3 files won't play
Post by: snedekercw on February 04, 2004, 07:20:53 am
I'm new to Media Jukebox, as I've switched over from Real One Player.

I like the Jukebox better.  However, I'm having some trouble playing some mp3 files I previously had in the Real One Player.  They have the mp3 extension, but for some reason, Media Jukebox doesn't import or play them.

Can someone help?

Thanks,
Cliff Snedeker

maybe they are not really mp3's

you could try to drag them to media jukebox, i think there is something that looks like a target (top left).

something wrong with the mp3?

i have a ftp site (66.57.193.58) if you wish to upload a few i will look at them to see if i can get them to work.

Hi.  Thanks for the offer.  I'm not quite sure how to use your site though.  If you could let me know, I'll forward them to you.

Thanks,

you would need to be using a FTP program like (BulletProof FTP)

==============================================

you can also access ftp sites by just using the following format putting this in the browser as the url

ftp://66.57.193.58/

and you can drag files into the upload folder

Hi. How ya doin.  I'm just now draggin over the files from the disk that I know for sure didn't transfer all the mp3s.  I would imagine that some of the other disks didn't transfer some as well.  Each time I try and put them in my library I'll be coming across them.

I just tested some of them and they will not load in other programs also.

Did you buy them?

If you look at the MP3's in a text editor it looks Encrypted\protected (they are not normal mp3's)

I did get :files from Mahavishnu Orchestra, Mum - Behind Two Hills, A Swimmingpo, Body Surrender & asleep on a train to load and play, and they look and play normaly.

Snede,
It appears from your last post (now deleted) that the files weren't obtained legally.  We can't help.
