Title: Seviien's version of Brushed Metal skin
Post by: JimH on February 04, 2004, 10:42:34 am
Here's my take on Brushed Metal:

It works with v10

I always thought the name "Seviien" was cool.  It imposes the roman numeral "vii" into the spelling of the word "seven."  The only problem is that no one else thinks so.  Everyone seems to think I'm Scandanavian or something... ;)

Even if you not are a Scandinavian, you have made a fine skin  ;)

Just a couple minor changes to spif up the buttons used to navigate the action window.

The skin is available at the same bat time, same bat channel:

Hi Seviin,
There seem to be heavy traffic today, I can't reach your zip file and not KinSpartas spartasoft.com.

Maybe Mozillas new Firefox and Thunderbird take all the space  ;)

Matshif,
The zip file is available to me but www.spartasoft.com doesn't work.

Hi
I checked for hours ago and I sent you an answer. Haven't you got that? It's almost 5 h ago.

I have installed your new version and it's playing. Thank you.

But I can't use the link above. JimH can though.

Shining Armor Now plays nice with MC 10.64 and newer.

The D/L link is the same as elsewhere in this thread.

Updated to 1.2b
screenshot: http://www.owlnet.rice.edu/~knight/Screen1.jpg
download: http://www.owlnet.rice.edu/~knight/Shining%20Armor%201.2.zip

I'm making some (small) changes that depart from the traditional "brushed metal," iTunes look.  It's nothing major, but it is an attempt to give the skin its own identity... at least as much as that is possible when the skin is at heart a remix of other skins.

Thoughts?

I know there's an answer to this somewhere on this board...

I just installed this skin and it looks awesome!  The problem I'm having, though, is that the Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons (upper right corner) have PINK background!  What critical pieces am I missing?

We had a similar problem on Win98 machines recently.  It was fixed.  What version of MC are you using?  And what OS?

Problem solved!  I was running an old version of MC (9.1.291).  I upgraded to 9.1.319 and everything is fine.

I'm just curious - what actually causes the pink to be overlayed with the proper backgroung color?

"It works with v10"

And I suppose v9 latest (as per the above post)?

I'm using your earlier skin, like it a lot (with v9.1.316)

I'll update to v9.1.319 and try it.
