Ok, Media Server problem on 10.0.62, i'm trying to connect to the server and get the message "read_http_request failed" on the server status panel.
i'm running the server on port 190, and redirected my router to the right computer.
Do i need to redirect some more ports that i don't know about ?
It's a server of Audio only, though i want to know if i need other ports too for video lets say.
Please help

Could you copy and paste the status window here?
Only the one port is needed (including video).

Try a few different ports, with larger numbers.
Are you running a firewall or a proxy server? The log shows that you had several connections, but no data was passed.

it's not a few connections it's one connections with 2 retries
-
i changed the port to 2400 and it didn't work as well, and yes i'm behind a firewall but redirected the port to the right computer, i have 2.
I tried port 4200 as well

Start media server on the server machine. On the client machine open a command/DOS window (run->command.exe). Type "telnet server-ip 4200" using the correct port number in place of 4200. See if it connects or if you get an error. If it connects, type "GET / HTTP/1.1" followed by 2 <enter>s. See what you get back.

it doesn't connect and i get the same error as before on the Server
in the client i get : "Could not open connection to the host, on port 4200 connect failed"
It's like it gets to the server but it doesn't allow it to connect, and i have no user or password
?
-
another information that might be important is that i'm using "No-ip" free application cause i don't have an ip.
When i connect through my inside Lan it works but when i'm going outside of the lan the problems starts, so i'm kind of sure it's a port thing or something like that !!
Please help

I can't help much, it's not really a media server problem. It's a problem with your firewall or your no-ip app. If you post details here, someone who is running a similar setup might be able to help.

does the port of the auto response must be open as well ?
-
No, that is only used for looking around for Media Servers. It only works on the local segment. Instead just use the IP address.

Ok, but i still can't connect with no-ip or without it, how come i get "read_http_request failed" ? what does it mean ?
