There is a neat little program called EncSpot that is helpful in identifying useful info about your MP3 files. It even helps identify bad files. I was rather surprised, there is a ton of information available. The best part is the basic version of the program is free!

If you have a lot of files, you might want to run it on small number of them at first to get an idea of the info the program can provide. Just put a dozen or so in a separate folder and let EnsSpot analyze them. If you have large collection, it can take awhile to look at thousands of files.
