Compatible with your current AV. Installs a non-intrusive browser plugin. If you live dangerously like I do (no AV), then it does foster a peace of mind (had just two detections in a couple zipped JavaScript files).

I only trust symantec for viruses...
My work has Inoculate, man that is the worlds biggest pile of ****.
I got a virus that attacked the actual inoculate software. Knocked it out and ate my system... The IT guy's had a good laugh...
By the way, some snapperhead tried to hack my computer last night... Is there anyway to send a IP address a message?

Been using them for a long, long time.
They are up to date, not like software.
And they are free, what else could you ask for.

PS Zen won your bet, hun. Was a good game!

I just switched for Mozilla firefox as my browser a couple days ago. So far, I'm quite impressed. But, when I try to download the plugin for Housecall, it wants me to point to the netscape folder, so I point it to the firefox folder, so far, so good. Then it wants me to point it to the plugins folder, which I do, but it says it cannot find the netscape plugins folder, and won't finish the install. Any ideas?

I also had trouble installing the plug-in with FireFox...rather than fight it, I dusted off IE and used it instead (forgive me Lord).
Griff...
Yes, most excellent game...took him a week to pay me in full, though.

Ah, yes. If at first you don't succeed, be sneaky. Always a good philosophy. Thanks for the tip. It's running right now.

I have used house call for a while and it is very good... however I decided to bite the bullet and get a real 24/7 AV on my PC but I wasn't about to pay for Norton and have to renew it every year so I went for AVG from www.grisoft.com. Completely free and all updates are free... worth every penny :)

I was using this, I put it on my girlfriends computer too, and I thought it was ok until she got a virus and it did nothing about it.
It was the Gaobot virus, I had to find other means to get rid of it, you've been warned! ;)

Well they do say a AVC is only aws good as your last update...had she been keeping it upodated?? Anyway for me who has never had a virus checker before and doesn't really do anything that makes me likely to get one I think I will be okay ;D

I used the Symatec online scan which found the virus, I thought i'd install AVG as it was the one I was using. I downloaded the latest one, run the scan and it didnt come up with anything.
She doesn't do anything that should get her a virus, so i'm on the lookout for a decent one now. Think it might have to be norton :-\

I like NOD32. When I uninstalled Norton AV and started with NOD32 it was like I'd upgraded my CPU. PC is much faster now.
See http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,986293,00.asp (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,986293,00.asp) for a good article on AV software and its impact on performance.
Unfortunately NOD32 isn't free.
