WHOA WHOA WHOA ... Media Scheduler can be used to start MC and play whatever list you want ...
No need for anything extra .. been using it for quite a while .. it opens MC at 7AM and starts a playlist of 100 Random songs for me :)
-
i tried it but it loads up media center then gives me a message of some sort and so i gave up trying
-
Hey drosoph - i can get mc to wake up and play whats in my playing now list, but how do i get it to play 100 random songs like you (or any other smartlist for that matter)?
thanks
-
I have two tasks setup in the Media Scheduler ...
---- 7:00AM ----
One to wake up MC and set volume to max :)
/Command VolumeSet 100
---- 7:01AM ----
One to play a playlist I have called RANDOM
/Play TREEPATH=Playlists\RANDOM
My random playlist is a 6 hour playlist of RANDOM audio files, that I have never heard before, with no dupes ... that are not in my DO NOT PLAY list (ie kids songs) ...
~sort=[Random] ~nodup=[Artist],[Name] [Number Plays]==0 [Media Type]=[Audio] ~t=360 -playlistid==DONOTPLAY

thanks for the info (although i did set mine a little later than 7am!)
-
im still having problems getting this to work. i can get mc to open up at a set time, but the play command isnt working. ive been using:
/Play TREEPATH=Playlists\WakeUp
and i have a smartlist called WakeUp
but i must be missing something as it isnt starting up each time
any suggestions??

Found the problem.
Media Scheduler is pointing to the wrong place to find "mjtextman.exe". It is "C:\windows\system\" not "C:\program files\ j river\media center\" . You can either change the reference or bring a copy of the file into the media center folder so the command references will find it.

hi sdgrizdan !
Any chance that a version for MC10 will be avilabls in the future? i know it can be done through media scheduler but seems much simpler with this great looking plugin
thx alot
zeltak ;D

It's working fine for me in MC10... Try downloading it again.
-
which version of MC10 are you using , im using the latest build and after i install it i cant find it anywhere in MC, i dunno maybe im doing somethig wrong , do you search for the plugin somehwere else other then the plugin options or plugin tree view?
zeltak :)

The latest version here as well...
Try this:
Go to Tools > Plugin Manager.
Expand the Interface Tree
Click on Alarm Clock and then click Start.
It should then show up in the tree view.

hi, i dont know whats wrong but it definantly wont work on my MC 10. i even tried to add it manually through the add plugin option in the plugin manager and it says that this plugin is not supported? any ideas guys?

i have the same problem, even though i download it it doesnt show as a plugin under interfaces
-
That is odd. I recently reinstalled Windows so I was starting with a clean install of MC and it installed fine. I have no idea what the problem could be. =/
The only other thing I can think of is it stop all of your other plugins, then install it, then restart everything? Just guessing now.
