How many custom fields can I add and (as this info can't be saved in a tag) how can I keep those fields from being blown away.

Hi,

I don't think there is a limit at the number of fields you can add. Except for the liimit on your disk or memory size ?? May be someone at JRiver will like to post comments on that. I use around 20 custom fields without any problems.

The custom field infos can be saved in the tag if you check the box marked "Store in file tags (when possible)" in the "configure library field" dialog box when you create a new custom field. Although this will only works with certain file types, ape, mp3, ogg, mpc without any doubt.
