I watched a downloaded movie the other night. It was called "Assassination Tango" and starred Robert Duvall (who I like a lot for "Lonesome Dove").
It has a lot of great dance scenes and exotic architecture and street scenes. It's really all about the topics we don't talk about here: religion, sex, and politics. ;)
Here's a starting point:

or try a google seach.
Any other good movies to watch?

Interesting:
One time a relationship wasn't working out and I was moping around the house ... so I went down early in the morning to the village there and got in the phone booth. And here I'm moping around the house and I didn't realize my wife had followed me down -- was outside the phone booth -- and here I'm on the phone with somebody else. So happy, adds Duvall.
Hung up, went out. Oh my God, I was caught. That was the way I was caught because through that glass there was this transformation of me into this happy, ecstatic guy ... So what's the lesson? The lesson is to be more subdued in a phone booth, I think."
I had a bunch of 'em, says Duvall, laughing. 'Charlie don't surf. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like victory.

My favorite is "Cool Hand Luke".
A prison warden kept having Paul Newman dig and then fill holes, hoping to get Mr. Newman to 'communicate properly'.

Things to notice in this movie are Luke's frequent searches for God and the fact that even when he loses he beats his opponents

Plot Outline: A man refuses to conform to life in a rural prison. (more)
The BEST MOVIE is yet to be made .. will include all parts!

My favourite movie of ALL TIME is "Brazil" - A Terry Gilliam movie. If you don't like Gilliam, you probably won't like this.
It's kind of a warped take on Orwell's 1984, beaurocracy gone amok. ie. you can't get your air conditioning serviced without signing a huge amount of forms etc.
I like this movie so much I bought the Criterion Collection version of the DVD, which is a 3 DVD set containing the original film as Gilliam intended it to be viewed, another version that was completely buggered by the studios insisting on changes, and almost all the bits of behind the scenes info you could want.
(Criterion make some very nice DVD editions of more "cult" movies; others I have from their range include Naked Lunch, and Fear And Loathing In Last Vegas)
Get it and watch it. NOW.

Favorite(s): The Matrix, Sid & Nancy, Godfather, BladeRunner, Clint's spaghetti westerns, BodyHeat, Se7en, The World According to Garp, Princess Bride, earlier Woody Allen's, Boiler Room, Vanishing Point, Exorcist
Every Coen brother's film has tripped my trigger (Fargo, Miller's Crossing, Raising Arizona, Blood Simple, Man Who Wasn't There, etc.)
Saddest: Schindler's List (though Awakenings hit me hard)
Best Rockumentary: This is Spinal Tap
Musical: (tie) Tommy, Grease
Ultraviolent: Clockwork Orange
Scariest: Jaws (was 13) then Alien (was 18 and couldn't handle it...walked out)
Comedies: Groundhog Day, CaddyShack, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, TommyBoy
De Niro's: Deerhunter, Casino, Heat, Goodfellas, Once Upon a Time in America, Sleepers, GodFather 2, Raging Bull
Depp's: Edward Scissorhands, Dead Man, Bennie & Joon, Blow, Cry Baby, Chocolat, Donnie Brasco
Anyone recall the Trinity (Terrence Hill) movies of the early 70's?..and actually saw them at the theaters? First out was "My Name is Nobody" (I was like 8 years old). They were all excellent.
I could go on...

Anyone seen 'The Heart is a Lonely Hunter'? It stars Alan Arkin playing a deaf and dumb guy and is probably the best acting I've ever seen. I've never met anyone else who's seen it though......

I can't beleive no one mentioned Snatch...

One of my all-time favorites. Brad Pitt's character is hillarious, very bizarre, but hillarious.

Watched "Pirates of the Carribbean" last night, quite enjoyed it. Thought Johnny Depp was hilarious and Keira Knightley was... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.............

The Corporation.
A must see documentary on the origins, history and power of corporations. It's won awards all over the place. I have only seen part 1 so far (TV Ontario aired in on 'The View From Here' last night), and wild horses wouldn't drag me away from parts 2 & 3.

Thanks for trying though. It was a downloaded movie from CinemaNow. It was about VHS quality. Good enough for me.

it doesnt seem like as many people check the "legal music and music services" board. I still think the download services are good, and they will rule eventually, but currently its easier to use netflix or similar (you also get the full DVD's with all the bonus materials etc.)
Oh, and V-Man - if you're a fan Keira Knightly you should check out "love actually" or "bend it like beckham"
makes me proud to be british...

The Cinema Inferno is now turned off after watching Pirates. And it was a great movie! But I can't believe that nobody's mentioned Lord of the Rings! Movies doesn't come any better! Sunday Peter Jackson should get his reward, with best movie and director.

Amazing movie - It's haunted me for years. Last year I read the original book - it's even more phenomenal than the movie (which I didn't think was possible)!
So that's two of us who have seen it now, JollyJim.
