Title: Problems with ATI All-in-Wonder Card
Post by: SCHROEDERMI on November 23, 2002, 03:32:38 am
Looking for assistance with the following.  I have an ATI All-In-Wonder Video card Mach64 chip based.  When using TV application for the first time I can punch in a channel and hit the watch buttton.  MJ then informs me that the list of tv channels is empty and asks if I want to scan for new channels.  Upon selecting yes MJ dialog indicates that TV is starting. Next I get a dialog box that states, "Failed to Play TV (Unknown Error)".  Whats up? ?
I am running windows 98 with directX 8.1 and the latest ATI drivers and media player.  Note:  When using the ATIPlayer program, the TV tuner works properly.

Yaobing (JRiver's TV guru) may have more to say Monday.

However, if you're a little brave, it may be worth trying Media Jukebox 9 from the beta board.  It even adds TV time-shifting like TiVo has.   It's pretty cool if you get it going.

Let us know what you figure out.

Matt,

I did d/l'd the beta hoping it would fix the problem that has carried over from 8x.  No fix there either.

NTSC or PAL?

America or Europe?

Try deleting this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox\TV Settings

It should ask you to choose some of the basic options the first time you run TV.

Then do add channels.

The registry key did not exist.  Deleted all entries and reinstalled.  Problem still persists.  Any suggestions?  Are there any limitations regarding the type / model of AIW card?
