Title: Try to convert to MP3, odd error message
Post by: docsnoek on February 29, 2004, 05:38:57 am
New user, probably pretty stupid. But, Have relicensed MJ with move to new computer, have MJ plus according to the registration file. When I try to convert ripped CD to MP3 I get a message saying no MP3 converter installed, do I want to down load one. I say yes, then get:

"Invalid package file. Cannot continue
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\PGWFPT45\enc_mp3[1].mip"

Why do I need an MP3 converter, is not that what I get with MJ Plus??

If I need to download it from somewhere, what does the error message mean??

what version of MJ are you using? full disclosure always helps

If your using somthing older than MJ8 there is no plug-ins on the server for anything older than MJ8. if this is the case then upgrade.

if you have MJ8 make sure it is the current version.

Thank you, I think I have the latest available version of MJ 8, version 8.0.400. I downloaded the update yesterday.

Am using IE 6.0.280 with lots of other letters behind it, certainly version 6 though.

I have an ADSL broadband connection, am running windows XP professional, not sure what else would be of help for you to know.

Maybe You Should Provide The Link On What Plug-ins Your Having Problems With.

Maybe Someone Can Help, Or Tell You What Could Be The Problem.

The Only Other Thing I Know Of That May Cause This Is The Temp File Is Full For Internet Explorer.

You Can Delete The Files Under, Tools, Internet Options, General Tab, Delete Files button.

Thank you very much, clearing the temp file appears to have done the trick.

Cheers

Thats a bug in IE, it does not clean the temp folder properly without help.
