Well it seems there is one available for approved Adobe Solutions Network Developer Program members only. This requires an anual subscrition of $195 i believe. Here's the link:

I know that such image management softwares as Compupic do support PSD files for thumbnails, etc... I do not know much about programming so I don't know if it would be possible to look at their sourcecode to find how they do it. Just a thought.

Matt...if you read this, would you take a look at my External Encoders post and comment?..just so I can stop asking about it (simple yes/no would suffice...forgive my obsessiveness...it's been up for a while)

ACDSee supports all the Adobe formats including PSD with included plug-ins.

Just a little quip from me.  I would absolutely LOVE to see PSD files supported.  I use MC at home now, but I work in a graphic arts and multimedia lab.  We are currently looking for Image Database packages that we can use to index, sort, search through our 1000's our files.  Honestly, most of these multi-hundred dollar programs can't hold a candle to MC (especially when you consider that they are image-type only and MC handles music and video too)!

I was thinking, is there some way that MC's file type support could be broadened by some sort of plug-in architecture?  I ask because if MC could be expanded to support not just PSD files, but Flash, and Freehand, and Illustrator (and I think you get the point) it would CLEARLY beat most of the image databasing programs.  You wouldn't necessarily have to even support "playing" those files, just thumbnailing and some method to automatically open them in their native program when you "play" them.  Actually, it would probably be better that way.  That said, I realize that that is an IMMENSE amount of work for the developers, but if regular schmucks could do it ....

Either way ... PSD support would ROCK!!!

I think we would like to do it.  We just haven't gotten around to it yet.
