I have been a registered user since early MC9 days and I have never used the download manager... Never even seen it before.
All of a sudden with MC10.0.91 it is popping up when I click on ASF files (maybe on others that I haven't encountered yet). I have disabled browser integration and deleted all it's file associations from within Download Manager and it is still popping up when I click on an ASF file. (the file associations seem to come back even though I delete them and I do not have the media scheduler running).
I have checked the windows file associations from within explorer and they do not point to the Download Manager. I have also made sure that the DM is not running as a background process when I test it. I posted in the beta thread that it was occuring in Moz Firefox, but I checked it again and I was mistaken... It is only happening in IE.

Update: It looks like it has something to do with the Mimetype Manager but I can find no settings in MC to get rid of this association.

I'm having this problem as well. Disable browser integration is checked.
Would it be possible to allow us to not install this portion? I don't see any need for it myself.

I am also experiencing this problem. Agree with everybody above. Disabled browser integration, removed all the file associations; would preferr not to install it at all.

Another thing to note, it does it for files that I do not have associated to Media Jukebox either, such as .asx and .asf files. These are both associated to wmp.

The bug will be fixed in MC 10.0.92. But you will need to manually remove association of ASX files with MC.
Install MC 10.0.92 first and then:
1) Run Windows Media Player
2) Go to Tools -> Options
3) Select the File Types tab
4) If the ASF file association is on, uncheck it and then check it again. If it's not associated, then associate it with WMP.
5) Click Apply button and exit.

Count me in, too, for finding a way to completely disable Download Manager.

What if I don't have WMP?
In the past MC handled it pretty well even with WMP uninstalled and the WMP.exe deleted from my computer.

I understand, but what do I associate ASX files with, since I don't have WMP anymore?
Also, I would prefer to play ASX files using MC10 and NOT WMP, WITHOUT the download manager opening up, liked MC did it until just a few buids ago.
I think that most people who listen to WMA streams have no use for the Download Manager, but still would like to be able to use MC 10 for this purpose. It worked fine , can't it be changed to the way it was before?

I was gettting the Download Manager when just trying to listen to music clips on amazon.com, and MC was not even associated with any of the clip types - had to go back into WMP to associate them with it as I prefer.
